4301 Ink Roller Replacement (see Figure 1)

It is recommended that ink rollers be changed every three months.

To replace the ink roller:

1. Place the imprinter upright, with its front side towards you, and the lid open.

2. While steadying the unit, pull the ink roller shaft down and out of the clip on the carriage. The roller and its shaft are now free to be removed from the carriage.

3. Remove the ink roller from the ink roller shaft. The arrangement of any spacers should be noted before the roller is removed.

4. Place the new ink roller onto the roller shaft, with any required spacers.

5. Insert the pointed end of the roller shaft into the oblong hole in the side of the carriage closest to the rear of the unit (the side farthest inside).

6. Press the outside end of the roller shaft upward into the gray clip on the other (outermost) side of the carriage, until it snaps into place.

7. Ensure the ink roller rotates freely. NOTE: The ink roller can be removed and replaced without any other dismantling.
